The actual floor of this room is much lower than in surrounding rooms. The
space between above the floor, all the way up to the floor level of the
surround areas, is filled with a non-Newtonian fluid. The usual way to
obtain this is to mix 2 parts corn starch to 1 part water. A disguise spell
is cast over this to make it resemble the floor used in the rest of the
dungeon.
You can run on this stuff, but stand still and you start to sink into it.
When you try to pull yourself out, it behaves like a solid again.
